Providence Manor Long Term Care
Providence Manor is a 243-bed long-term care home located in downtown Kingston. The home provides care for residents who have stable medical conditions, but require 24-hour nursing care.
The Recreationist develops knowledge about participants in order to respond to their individual and group needs through a process of formal and informal assessment. The Recreationist plan, implements, facilitates, and evaluates individual and group programs suited to the individual needs of the participants. Provides input to the monthly calendar of events utilizing program planning and development. The Recreationist contributes to participant care plan with attention to goals and measurable outcomes. The position also works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team with the focus on the resident’s best interests. Emphasizes and encourages participation utilizing resident centered approaches tailoring to their abilities, needs, interests, and values.
Skills And Qualifications Required
  • Plans, implements and evaluates individual programs, group programs and community outings suited to the individual needs of the residents on the assigned unit and consistent with the overall activity program
