Job Description

Purchase Order Management Associate - 6 Month Contract


This entry level position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of foundation level data in our merchandising system. The associate creates and maintains all merchandising styles (brick & mortar as well as endless aisle) and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all purchase orders requested from the buying team. This position will work in conjunction with the Manager, Purchase Order Specialists to liaise with our internal departments and our Vendor partners, as they relate the company.


General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate and updated tracker of workload assigned for weekly reporting.
  • Create and maintain all merchandising styles for designated buying area within the merchandising system.
  • Create and maintain all merchandising purchase orders for designated buying area within the merchandising system.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce team to ensure all product data is displayed online timely and accurately.
  • Point person for store enquiries regarding pricing, style information, etc. Investigate potential issues, take appropriate corrective action, and respond to originating request.
  • Various administrative support functions, including clerical, reporting, and ad hoc projects for Merchandising and Supply Chain teams.
  • Work cross functionally with the Merchandise team – Buyers, Assistant Buyers; Supply Chain, Planning, and Allocation; Vendor Compliance, Traffic (Imports), and Logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely creation of styles and purchase orders, and to facilitate timely flow of quality goods to retail locations. Daily correspondence between these teams in order to respond to queries, troubleshoot issues, and resolve opportunities.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with external Vendor partners in order to obtain necessary information for item setup and PO entry.


General Skills Required:

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and self-edit daily work
  • Customer centric focus, including a high degree of diplomacy when dealing with external partners, such as vendors, and internal cross functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Adapts easily and positively to change and demonstrates flexibility
  • Strong math aptitude, data entry proficiency, and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Work experience in the retail industry
  • Post-secondary education in Retail or Fashion.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize workload, and complete work with a sense of urgency, accuracy, and follow up in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a highly team-oriented environment
