Job Description

Responsibilities


The Project Manager is responsible for assisting in project launch strategy and direction while managing the stage gate process for all product development projects. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Project Manager will be required to develop project plans, manage timelines, identify risks and update project stakeholders. The Project Manager will take projects from an idea to an actual sellable product, interacting with all functional departments along the way.


  • Understand the full scope of each product project and who the correct individuals are to connect with.
  • Involving all relevant departments and stakeholders ensuring all are on board with the timeline and execution needed.
  • Create project charters and logs to ensure projects stay within scope.
  • Conduct product gap analysis through work with Commercial Space Designers, the Sales Team and external resources and make suggestions on potential product enhancements or a new offering.
  • Have a strong understanding of the trending products in the market and present new potential projects and creative solutions to the Director of Marketing & Communications and New Product Development Team at both BRC and Tayco.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Develop reports after each project is complete and present areas that could be modified for future projects.
  • Develop detailed project action plan to track progress new product development and product change initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and do background analysis to validate projects before they begin.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Through project management lead a collaborative team of key stakeholders from engineering, design, and sales to ensure the success of each project.
  • Create budgets for each project and maintaining that budget throughout.


Requirements


  • Experience managing project budgets is an asset.
  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a post-secondary institution preferably in business, marketing, interior design, or a related field.
  • Experience managing projects from start to completion with accountability to stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using a project management software such as SmartSheet.
  • CAPM or PMP certification is an asset.
  • Think critically and strategically.
  • Communicate well in writing and in speaking. Strong presentation skills.
  • Manage conflict.
  • Promote and generate cooperation from all members of the project team; foster the development of a common project vision and objectives and fully participates in creating a unified team that get results.
  • Commit to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Achieve results. Make the correct decisions and implements the necessary changes required to achieve the goals/objectives.
  • Have effective time management skills to prioritie tasks and manage time effectively to ensure assigned deadlines are met.
  • Leverage resources to deliver results. Solve problems and makes appropriate decisions.
  • Understanding different types of project management and how and when to apply them ex. Agile, lean
  • Have the ability to identify risks and take measures to mitigate them effectively.

  • Effectively communicate.
  • Be organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently; able to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions.
