Job Description

Position: Project Manager - Rail Design Implementation (Compliance with Standards)

Location: Mississauga, ON


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager with a deep understanding of the rail design implementation process and a strong background in adhering to rail standards. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of rail projects while ensuring full compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Your expertise will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality rail solutions that meet both technical specifications and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Lead project execution, monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain an in-depth understanding of relevant rail standards, regulations, and safety guidelines (e.g., European Rail Standards, EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).

Ensure all design and implementation activities align with these standards to guarantee the safety and reliability of rail systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with design engineers, systems analysts, safety experts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of standards compliance into the project lifecycle.

Facilitate effective communication between technical teams to resolve any conflicts or challenges related to standards implementation.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks associated with standards non-compliance or deviations.

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project integrity.

Quality Assurance:

Implement quality control processes to validate that all design, testing, and implementation phases align with established rail standards.

Review design documentation, reports, and test results to verify compliance.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate project documentation, including standards-related requirements, test results, and compliance reports.

Provide regular status updates and progress reports to stakeholders and upper management.

Continuous Improvement:

Proactively seek opportunities to enhance project efficiency, collaboration, and adherence to standards.

Identify gaps in existing processes and propose improvements for better standards integration.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Proven experience (X+ years) as a Project Manager in rail design and implementation, preferably with a focus on standards compliance.

  • In-depth knowledge of rail industry standards and regulations, including European rail standards.
