- Spills may include train derailments, pipeline releases, trucking accidents, chemical spills, etc.
- Experience in emergency spill response, environmental investigation, and remediation
- Required to be available 24/7 to lead teams providing on-site professional services to assist with emergency spill response for clients in Atlantic Canada and across Canada
- Assist in preparing emergency response plans, participate in emergency exercises, and provision of training to clients, etc.
- Work with various business groups within the region to accomplish urgent client results and tasks
- Drone/UAV operation and surveying
- Supervise and train junior staff in both field work, analysis and report preparation
- Train and coach junior staff on spill response, environmental characterization, remediation, construction supervision and restoration.
- Engage with stakeholders on emergency spill response projects
- Advise and direct strategy and tactics for containment/confinement of spills, identification of receptors at risk, environmental characterization, remediation, site restoration, etc.
- Industrial hygiene air monitoring and sampling
- Lead on-site professional services for emergency spill response projects
- Lead a wide variety of environmental projects, with focus on emergency spill response and remediation under the supervision of Project Director
- Establish, monitor, and communicate scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
- Train and coach junior staff on project coordination and reporting
- Develop client relationships and new opportunities for business
- Responsible for most technical aspects of routine emergency spill response and remediation projects with assistance of subject matter authorities as required
- Assist other team members and project managers with field work or technical expertise as needed
- Prepare proposals for new opportunities

- This intermediate position will be roughly 50% field and 50% office, with the option to occasionally work from home.
- B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Flexible work schedule, ability to work weekends, holidays and nights when required
- High level of attention to detail, analytical skills along with time management skills to be able to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital to this role in order to efficiently express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Willingness and desire to travel, with the ability to work remotely and internationally
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment would be an asset
- Field work will require working long hours, working in inclement weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs, when required
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- 10+ years of experience required, co-op experience would be considered a benefit
