The Opportunity:


WSP is seeking a Project Director for our Remediation Business who will lead complex multi-disciplinary civil and construction remediation projects in Eastern Ontario. This position reports to the Vice President, Program Manager of the Canadian Construction Remediation group.


The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will be an effective communicator with a proven track record of building and leading teams while executing environmental and/or civil construction projects in Canada.

A day in the life:


  • You’ll be accountable for all aspects of project delivery (notably safety, radiation protection, and environmental).
  • You’ll be accountable to achieve project budget and schedule targets.
  • You’ll establish a strong relationship with client, internal stakeholders, senior management, and external stakeholders. Represent WSP well to all parties.
  • You’ll direct the project team in the execution of the work.
  • You’ll lead all aspects of large, high profile, complex remediation / civil earthworks projects.
  • You’ll build, grow, mentor a high performing project team.
  • You’ll understand, apply, and oversee the implementation of a best-in-class safety program.
What you'll bring to WSP ...


  • Experience in the nuclear construction industry is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with subcontractors.
  • Must be able to obtain Federal Government Reliability Clearance, this requires that you have a minimum of five (5) years living & working in Canada as either a Permanent Resident or Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract.
  • Demonstrated ability at leading project teams – project managers, construction managers, site superintendents, safety managers, engineering managers and direct field staff.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Ontario and Federal environmental and construction regulations.
  • Must have 10-15 years' experience managing large projects as a contractor/general contractor/EPCM entity.
  • Proven track record interfacing with senior management on Project Program performance, bid evaluation, etc.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering or Commerce, or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Excellent organizational, technical writing, communication, and team-building skills.
