Job Description

Program Business Analyst (Cybersecurity) (12 Month Contract)

Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid

Program Description:

The Senior Cybersecurity BA’s primary assignment is to provide business analysis support to the Cybersecurity Program, aimed at increasing cybersecurity and IT resiliency across the enterprise.

The Senior Cybersecurity BA will work closely with the Cybersecurity Program Manager, the Cybersecurity team, and other program stakeholders across company and its operating companies.

The Senior Cybersecurity BA will work with stakeholders from various business units across the company Enterprise as well as with vendors or suppliers to define and document business processes and requirements for Cybersecurity related projects and initiatives.

The Senior Cybersecurity BA will also participate in and support key aspects of the implementation of technology solutions. This may include some project coordination, solution design, development, communications, testing, and training delivery.

Work product will require the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools to capture and present project information including Excel pivot tables and charts, SharePoint Lists, Visio diagrams (swim lanes, org charts), etc.


Services:

Working closely with the program team and stakeholders, the Contractor will provide end-to-end business analysis services for this project.Duties will include all aspects of business analysis including but not limited to the following:

1. Define and document the business problems, opportunities, risks, and primary objectives related to the project or initiative.

2. Lead discussions with stakeholder groups to identify, interpret, and analyze requirements using a variety of techniques such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases/scenarios, workflow analysis.

3. Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high level information into detailed functional and technical specifications.

4. Document detailed business requirements and high level system design using company standard project methodology and coordinate requirement walk throughs and sign offs with business stakeholders.

5. Work with BTS staff and business stakeholders to document current as is business processes, using standard business process notation and diagramming methods.

6. Work with BTS Staff and business stakeholders to design and document future to be business processes, using standard business process notation and diagramming methods.

7. Perform fit-gap analysis, as required.

8. Coordinate technology stakeholders to define solutions options and identify technology/service gaps.

9. Evaluate potential technology solutions to ensure that they meet business requirements.

10. Prepare and present decision documentation to key stakeholders for decision-making.

11. Assist the program and project managers in developing and maintaining project plans, WBS, risks and issue logs and any other project planning materials, as required.

12. Assist the program and project managers in developing status reporting materials.

13. Support and/or lead the development of a Test Strategy and Plan.

14. Develop Use Case Scenarios and evolve them into Test Scripts

15. In consultation with various stakeholders, including suppliers, develop and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix and ensure that the solution is delivered according to specifications.

16. Support and/or lead User Acceptance Testing.

17. Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to resolve conflicts around functionality, features, and specifications.

18. Prepare materials to support change management, including Service Desk Knowledge Bases, revised support processes and operational handover materials.

19. Support and/or lead the delivery of training to all affected users ranging from end-users to system administrators to analysts.

20. Facilitate all BA-related communications and prepare and maintain relevant documentation


Deliverables:

Standard business analysis deliverables and supporting documentation will be expected although they may be modified to suit the scope and scale of the project.

These include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Requirements Definition documentation & Traceability Matrices

2. Use Case documents or User Stories

3. Current as?is & future state process diagrams or maps

4. Fit-gap analysis documents

5. RACI matrices

6. Decision Analysis and Supporting documents

7. Standard Operating Procedures

8. Operations and / or user guides

9. System deployment documents

10. End User Training materials

11. Testing documents (e.g., test plans, use cases, scripts, and required test data)

12. Standard Operating Procedures (for future state)

13. Meeting agendas, minutes, and action items

14. Program status reports


Knowledge & Experience:

1. Experience with Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure is highly desirable.

2. Bachelor’s degree with formal business analyst training.

3. 7+ years of business analysis experience.

4. Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.

5. Experience with leading teams comprised of business analysts and business subject matter experts.

6. Ability to gather, analyze, and consolidate information from a variety of sources (i.e., documents, interviews, brainstorming sessions, etc.).

7. Proven track record of working with business stakeholders to identify, assess and document business requirements.

8. Ability to work with technical analysts / advisors and translate these requirements into detailed system specifications.

9. Knowledge of standard MS Office tools, including Microsoft Visio.

10. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail working in a fast-paced environment.
