Professional Wellness Speaker Jobs

We are seeking talented, engaging, and qualified public speakers to provide evidence-based wellness talks to businesses, organizations, and groups in the community (virtually and/or in person across Canada).

WellIntel Talks is a collective of Speakers that provide mental health and wellness education talks to corporate and community audiences. WellIntel Talks is well as a platform that allows community members to easily find and hire qualified wellness Speakers. Our Mission is to promote access to evidence-based, high-quality mental health and wellness information and to equip people with wellness intelligence.

WellIntel Speakers are contracted by WellIntel Talks to create and deliver 1-2 evidence-based talks within their area of mental health, health, and/or wellness expertise, and will generally deliver the same talk(s) each time they are contracted, therefore minimizing the time commitment required for Speakers.

Speakers are listed and promoted through the WellIntel Talks platform and are paid for each talk they provide. This job position is casual, flexible hours and is an opportunity to capitalize on the expertise and/or talk that Speakers already have.

Responsibilities

● Attending a meeting with WellIntel Talks executives to discuss, refine, and confirm your talk topic, participating in an orientation meeting, and meeting with WellIntel Talks executives before delivering your talk for the first time to refine, rehearse, and receive feedback on your talk;

● Creating a brief description of your talk that outlines the talk content and the learning objectives that will be achieved in your talk;

● Conducting any scientific research that is required to create your talk to ensure that is grounded in empirical science and creating an original, evidence-based, and creative talk;

● Rehearsing and delivering your talk (either virtually, in-person, or pre-recorded);

● Interacting with and facilitating participation of talk attendees during the talk;

● Answering questions that attendees may have that are relevant to your talk;

● Customizing your talk to meet the specific learning needs or objectives of the client, if requested (you would be compensated for extra time you spent on customizing your talk);

● Incorporating feedback into your talk to ensure that it is as engaging as possible and aligned with the Mission of WellIntel Talks, and meeting with WellIntel Talks executive on an as needed basis to receive feedback on talk;

● Open to travel to locations where the talk is requested (if in-person), which may be anywhere in Canada.

Qualifications

● Have at least a Master’s degree (or equivalent graduate-level training) in a mental health or health-related field (e.g., neuropsychology, psychology, physiotherapy, social work, exercise physiology), and able to create/deliver an original, evidence-based talk that is within the scope of their Master’s degree training;

● Excellent public presentation, facilitation of group participation, and interpersonal skills;

● Experience creating and delivering talks to non-academic audiences;

● Must be aligned with the Mission of WellIntel Talks of wanting to increase wellness intelligence in the community and equipping individuals with evidence-based information to improve their own mental health and wellbeing.

What We Provide

● WellIntel Talks works directly with their Speakers to ensure their talk is catered in a way that is successful in corporate and other community settings. We help our Speakers sharpen their public speaking skills and gain considerable experience delivering talks and disseminating knowledge to a wide range of audiences;

● WellIntel Talks takes care of all of the marketing, client relations, and administration aspects (contracts, fee processing) related to booking speaking engagements so that Speakers can focus solely on talk delivery.
