About Mount Milligan Mine


Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.


Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.


Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.


About The Opportunity


We have an opportunity for a full-time Production Coordinator, Mill Operations to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.


This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 14 days on / 14 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday, with a 12-hour daily schedule.


Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To


  • Assist with training of employees in best operating practices
  • Coordinate operations production activities with inter-department resources for bi-weekly forecasting
  • Conduct thorough investigations and document findings
  • Evaluate operator rounds; identify and rectify gaps in reporting and checks
  • Coordinate plant production shutdown plans with Mill Maintenance, and Mine Operations
  • Seek out and identify persistent problems; organize efforts to resolve, while tracking progress
  • Develop and educate on process control strategies
  • Utilize inter-department resources to identify best practices
  • Apply MOC and risk assessment processes to evaluate and document proposed changes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives of the department
  • Coordinate department activities during implementation of new findings
  • Ensure a high level of quality and production standards


About You


To qualify, you must have 5+ years of supervisory experience in a milling environment with experience in Sag and Ball Milling, and 7 years of Milling experience.


The following skills and experiences will also be critical to successfully performing this role:


  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain motivation of crews
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically SAP, TapRoot, IsoMetric, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Process Monitoring and Stability
  • Experience with DCS systems and PI
  • Degree of assertiveness, ability to give direction


Possessing or being able to hold a British Columbia Supervisor Certification, and the ability to work autonomously on specific tasks to meet deadlines would be considered an asset.


The candidate must be willing to work with a variety of personalities within a culturally diverse environment.
