Production Artist Jobs

Responsible for creation and execution of final print production files, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all files before they are routed to external prepress vendors or digital networks. The Production Artist is considered to be the last link in the print or digital chain. They are responsible for prepping final digital files for release, managing servers, and digital archiving. Specific skills include typesetting and a rich understanding of design, colour and the printing/digital process. Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, and working closely with Art Directors, Designers and other members of the Creative Department to produce high-quality creative work. This role requires the ability to work fast, accurately, and under pressure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Occasionally create mock-ups or other presentation pieces
• Final file transmission to suppliers and/or clients.
• Review and evaluate creative revisions made during production stage
• Work with designers and art directors to set standard practices and process for file creating and asset management.
• Create versions as required and manage English and French files, across multiple elements
• Work with designers and art directors to finalize concepts.
• Ensure that all client style guides are applied as required
• Maintain a process for archiving.
• Ensure high graphic standards are maintained.
• Create production art files for all creative work leaving the agency
• Photo-retouching capabilities
• Maintain a process for file management and assets.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Ability to work with speed and efficiency
• Strong understanding of the creative process, organizational skills & file management
• Team player
• Knowledge with digital programs are an asset
• Ability to work on multiple assignments in different stages of development
• 5+ years of full time agency experience
• Degree in a related field
• Excellent experience with a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator etc.
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of print production / graphics arts
• Strong creative/visual design and typography skills
• Works well in a fast-paced team environment
