Your role


The Principal plays a key leadership role in day-to-day operations of the Furniture and Equipment Services National Service Line. They are directly responsible for developing and leading a team of talented professionals and are assigned ownership of all aspects of delivery into the Canadian market. Our ideal candidate is a recognized leader in the marketplace who has built their career project by project, client by client and by developing meaningful long-term relationships as a trusted advisor.


The Principal is also directly responsibility for identifying, pursuing and securing Furniture and Equipment (F&E) services mandates. Their legacy will be evidenced by the manner in which his/her team members are developed, new quality standards are delivered into the market and the innovations made to the delivery of F&E services in the Canadian market. The Principal provides executive-level operations and business


support to the Vice President.


Responsibilities


  • Leverage the personal autonomy and service line support granted to develop and grow your team, accounts and client base
  • Achieve maximum human resource performance for Colliers Project Leaders including recruitment, selection, on-boarding, training, performance management, health and safety, employee relations, and employee recognition and retention
  • Demonstrate by example, support and implement Colliers Project Leaders corporate objectives such as employee engagement, environmental, social, community, and sustainability
  • Develop, nurture, coach and lead a dedicated team of 10-15 professional staff
  • Lead Colliers Project Leaders' response to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, your Project Team and the Vice President
  • Act as the advocate of the company’s vision, communicating the corporate vision to staff, clients and the marketplace
  • Play a leadership role in Canada’s largest and fastest growing Healthcare F&E Services firm known by reputation as a trusted partner
  • Actively participate in annual business planning and budgeting exercises As part of a recognized industry leader, continue to advance our innovation into regular delivery standards
  • Oversee and/or directly manage large and complex, high-profile mandates to achieve client satisfaction, corporate, human resource, quality and financial objectives
  • Serve as the firm’s Client Relationship Manager with ownership of market sectors, client accounts and client programs


Qualifications


  • Strong computer skills, including word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) and scheduling software (preferred)
  • A university degree in a relevant discipline
  • Professional designation such as PMP and or P. Eng. is considered an asset.
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate an energetic disposition in stressful situations
  • Previous experience in leadership positions, managing and mentoring teams and ensuring business objectives are met or exceeded
  • Strong ability to build, lead and motivate teams, concurrently and in a matrix environment
  • An established network of industry contacts and relationships as well as involvement with applicable industry and trade associations
  • A strong and functioning understanding of Provincial Ministry guidelines to delivery F&E services into healthcare capital projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills including a proven ability to write winning proposals and win competitive interviews
  • Strong conflict resolution with respect to client, project, technical, contractual and interpersonal issues
  • Strong organization skills and ability to work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Furniture and Equipment (F&E) planning and related services representing owners to deliver large projects in primarily acute healthcare settings
  • Practical knowledge of procurement practices, bid preparation and contracts.
  • Demonstrated leadership overseeing medical equipment planning projects with traditional construction models (e.g., Design Build Finance and Maintain projects) and an awareness of newer progressive models.
