Job Description
Davis Pier is seeking a full-time Principal to join our consulting firm in Halifax, NS.

As a Principal with Davis Pier, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of exceptional client services necessary to design, plan, and implement lasting change and improvement in complex environments. Our core services are Strategy and Analytics; Transformation and Implementation; Design and Technology.


Responsibilities will include:
  • Adherence to administrative processes and firm policies such as timesheet reporting, expense tracking, workplace safety, and sustainability practices.
  • Encouraging team initiative and innovation
  • Participation in community involvement activities;
  • Participation in professional networking to build relationships with prospective clients;
  • Accountability for managing project budgets to ensure profitability of engagements;
  • Leading business development activities such as researching, developing and pursuing new opportunities, proposal preparation, executive presentations, and relationship building with prospective buyers and influencers;
  • Acting in a supervisory capacity for assigned team members including:
  • Acting as a lead consultant or team lead on complex projects within our service lines, which will involve managing junior resources within Davis Pier, partner firms, and client organizations and managing client relationships within project environments;
  • Development of high-quality project deliverables such as detailed reports, presentation decks, and spreadsheets that meet or exceed client expectations;
  • Providing open and constructive feedback
  • Encouraging and supporting team professional development, progression and performance management
  • Delivering the following types of expertise on client engagements to achieve desired outcomes: management sciences, analytics, change management, facilitation, project management, and business analysis;
  • Facilitating client workshops and interviews to collect information necessary for analyses, enable the execution of change management activities, and plan complex projects;
  • Seamlessly integrating with client teams and development of tailored approaches to project delivery to ensure the engagement outcomes are delivered in an non-disruptive manner;
  • Supporting practice development activities;
  • Enabling productive teamwork, strong working relationships and team motivation


Qualifications


Candidates should meet the following criteria:


  • Experience in using service design methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of how to use technology as a business enabler
  • Knowledge of the public sector, the social sector, or healthcare would be considered an asset
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Formal education in business, public administration, engineering, information technology, social sciences or service design
  • Experience designing and implementing digital change would be considered an asset
  • Is responsive to changes in technology and can adapt their approach accordingly
  • Previous consulting experience is required
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
