Job Description

Our client is a successful and well-established supplier of mining products and services. Their manufacturing facility in Kamloops, BC is in need of a Plant Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the production, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and safety functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.


Qualifications:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (nice to have, not mandatory)
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with all levels of the organization and multifunctional teams.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills
  • 10+ years of work experience in an industrial environment with a focus on manufacturing
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience leading a team.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment, and at basic to intermediate capability in MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software
