Lafarge ready-mix Calgary has immediate openings for motivated individuals to join the day to day operations of the Calgary Lafarge RMX plant operations as yard helpers.

• Take part in daily plant safety instructions, receive and interpret instruction on completing daily tasks safely, efficiently with the use of recourses provided.
• Assisting in inventory level checks.
• Take part in day to day ready-mix production addition of value added products and concrete fibers. Must be capable of repetitive medium duty lifting or moving of products up to 55lbs.
• Will be involved in preventative maintenance, minor repairs and daily service.
• Must be reliable and available during normal work hours.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to multiple locations within the greater Calgary area.
• Must be capable of shoveling, wheelbarrowing, pressure washing, sweeping and cleaning debris.
• Work safely and report any and all unsafe actions.
• Housekeeping in all areas of the plant or yard.
• Assist ready-mix drivers with returned concrete, form, prep and place returned concrete.
• Set concrete block forms place and finish concrete blocks, block inventory.
• Operate small equipment including skid steer and zoom boom.

Relationships with Others:

• Will report to plant manager or lead hand operator. Work safely and report any and all unsafe actions.
• Good communication skills are required. Must be able to work with others.
• Follow any and all safe work practices, procedures, safety rules and policy.

Education:

• Valid Driver’s License is required Class 5 minimum.
• Safety Certifications and/or experience are not required but considered beneficial/
• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience & Skill Set:

• Safety Certifications and/or training is an asset.
• Wages are subject to negotiation based on experience. Benefits, increases and pension are available when a probation period is complete based on performance.
