Purpose of Role: This Project Engineer position will have the ability to technically lead and P.Eng seal large scale capital piping engineering projects which may span 1-2 years while also being able to balance smaller short term time-sensitive upgrade projects in parallel. Having an understanding of how EPC processes work such as document control, design reviews, quality surveillance, along with basic procurement and supply chain functions would be considered an asset. Our primary engineered products supplied are rubber lined spools, small vessels, rotating wear items and large diameter slurry hoses, however the product line is evolving to include more complex products to align with Weir’s global offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Focus Area: Review PO’s and material requisitions upon award and review all engineering documents for compliance to industry and customer specifications prior to transmission for customers for approval
  • Focus Area: Support ongoing production efforts which includes collaborating with our manufacturing engineers to improve products or processes and visiting customer sites to visually inspect current installations needing attentions
  • Focus Area: Technically lead brownfield engineering only upgrade projects by organizing engineering designs and upgrade strategies
  • Focus Area: Technically and commercially lead capital projects from $0.5M to $15M end-to-end and manage the development of engineering deliverables based on customers isometrics or feed documentation
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • 5-10+ years of experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
  • Registered P.Eng in a Canadian Province (Please submit License # & Province with application)
  • Familiar with typical industry piping documentation and requirements, such as LDT’s, Line Classes, QA requirements.
