Responsibilities:

• Evaluate materials, perform tests, and analyze data to support component selection and suppliers
• Take initiatives and leads on various project tasks and activities and ensure they stay on track and meet the technical objectives, budget, and timeline
• Collaboratively work with MEA and other component expertise to support the development of fuel cell stacks
• Lead the design and qualification of GDL (gas diffusion backing and MPL) component
• Support and periodically contribute to creating IP portfolio
• Develop material characterization data sets and models to predict component performance, reliability, and lifetime under stack assembly and operating conditions
• Build rapport with suppliers, customers, and team members and communicate timely information, needs, and wants
• Follow all company and departmental procedures, policies, and guidelines, including directions provided by senior colleagues and supervisor
• Develop new tools, test protocols, and procedures
• Stay up to date on relevant global developments and look for opportunities to leverage the information and continuously improve products and best practices
• Gather, develop, and verify design specifications and customer requirements
• Prepare, present, update, release, and maintain relevant documentation for various reviews (design, technical, project, etc.) and weekly meetings

Qualifications:

• Must be resourceful in resolving technical and day-to-day operational/business problems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office software
• Strong initiative and analytical skills
• Enjoy working in a multi-functional, multi-geographical, and multi-cultural team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Expertise in GDL materials, processes, evaluation, modeling, electrochemistry, testing, characterization, and failure analysis
• 10+ years of experience in relevant in fuel cell industry
• Proven team player with the ability to interact effectively with a team, customers, and suppliers while representing the company professionally
• Strong automotive experience and understanding of IATF
• Strong supplier management and relationship skills
• Relevant bachelor's degree in science or engineering (e.g. Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering). Prefer a relevant Master's degree or Ph.D.
• Exceptional communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
