Job Description

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our GO Expansion & Transformation Operations Performance Management Office is seeking a Performance Analyst to provide specialized data collection, analysis, industry comparison, report development, and recommendations on a variety of performance and financial materials; and also, to assist in the development of strategic and technical analysis to optimize and identify key performance indicators, measurements, and standards.
What will I be doing?
  • Provide support to the section by assisting with data gathering and analysis and develop, assemble, and maintain data relating to operational/maintenance performance.
  • Develops methodologies to track, monitor, analyse, provide management reports, and expedite all customer generated complaints/commendations and inquiries.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads, or participates in, projects as assigned, including new technology testing, meetings, presentations, and liaison with other participants.
  • Review and analysis of new and existing rail & bus routes and/or maintenance practices to provide a variety of management reports that track the performance.
  • Analyzes operational, and / or project-related processes and procedures, and recommends streamlined solutions for identified inefficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain data for monthly GO Rail & Bus on-time performance, kilometres operated, ridership summary and mean-distance between failures, and recommend performance management measures.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of industry-sponsored scheduling course would be considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including process, workflow, and financial analysis.
  • 4 years of relevant experience gathering, tracking, and analyzing data
  • Completion of a diploma in Information Technology, Data Management, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
  • Strong proficiency with both Excel and PowerPoint Applications.
  • Knowledge and experiences in business intelligence application (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik Sense) and data analytics is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated report writing and presentation abilities.
