- Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, Maintenance Department and Public Area
- Co-ordinates between housekeeping staff to inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met. Manages many priorities and demands and is able to solve problems, support staff, as well as perform the duties of a housekeeper when required.
- Establish and/or implement operating procedures and standards
- Plan and coordinate the activities of housekeeping supervisors and room attendants
- Coordinate inspection or inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met
- Apply human resource management skills, such as hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating performance
- Complete financial management tasks, such as setting and adhering to a budget
- Handle administrative tasks
- Select and purchase equipment and supplies, and maintain inventory
- Coordinates with Maintenance of the rooms that need repair
- In charge of the public area
- Handles guest feedback regarding the cleanliness of the room
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 3 years of Housekeeping Management work experience required.
· Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role required, with a proven track record.
· Post-secondary education in Hospitality or Business management a related field a definite asset.
· Good problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
· Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations regarding health standards for hotel facilities.
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
· A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
· Must have a demonstrated passion for providing guest service excellence and inspiring team members to go above and beyond.
· Must possess a high degree of professionalism.
· Must be energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
· Ability to build strong, effective relationships within all areas of the hotel.
· Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
· Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, follow through and complete overlapping projects.
· Computer literacy required: MS Windows and related hotel systems.
· Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to associate privacy.
· Must be flexible to assist/support as needed on various shifts, including weekends & public holidays.
· Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
