ABOUT THE JOB OFFER

Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the candidate will join a team of talented and passionate individuals to contribute to technical design, development, and other tasks necessary to ensure successful sprint engagements. The candidate will also work in collaboration with technical leaders to participate in the evolution of the development teams' methods and best practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Autonomous in solving technical problems.
• Participate in the development of reusable components (application frameworks, models).
• Support peers to improve performance.
• Work in a cloud environment; understand cloud computing philosophy and methodology; understand Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Participate in analysis, technical design, development, and other tasks as required to ensure delivery of projects with tight deadlines.
• Participate in code reviews
• Participate in the evolution of team development methods and best practices.
• Provide on-call assistance as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure alignment of solution architecture with programming standards.
• Actively participate in tasks related to project deliverables.
• Understand the risks, difficulties and obstacles associated with solutions and follow the recommendations proposed by the solution architects.
• Participate in code reviews
• Lead and collaborate with team members to implement solutions.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Degree in computer science.
• Experience with microservices architectures (an asset).
• Knowledge of Agile approaches (Mêlées, Kanban).
• Versatile, resourceful and recognized by peers for proactive approach to proposing the right solutions to overcome obstacles.
• Demonstrated experience with AWS tools and services in connection with application software development (an asset).
• Effective in analyzing technical problems, identifying their source and taking action; ability to communicate problem-solving plans.
• Demonstrated experience in developing cloud application software (an asset).
• Relevant professional experience in Node/Typescript development technology.
• Technologies used: Typescript/Javascript, React, Redux, Node, Java JEE, Spring MVC, NPM, Maven, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, DynamoDB, Cognito, Lambdas, MySQL, REST, SOAP, Tomcat, Websphere.
• Enthusiastic about sharing new ideas and learning from colleagues.
