Quanteam is an independent Financial Markets consulting company based in France, the UK, the USA, Canada, and Morocco. Our team of 800 employees supports Corporate and Investment Banks, Asset Management Companies, Insurance, and Corporate for their projects in SI transformation, technology innovation, financial engineering, and regulatory implementation.

We are looking for a Software Developer (Python Java and JS) to work with one of our clients based in Montreal.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVES:

The team delivers day-to-day services to accelerate its transformation. It differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub-business units.

It is responsible for the development of workflows and automation and is looking to hire a motivated, proactive, and highly contributing software engineer that will foster automation and transform operational business processes.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirement:

• Control multiple workstreams at once.
• Take part in design thinking exercises to identify demands and define necessary features.
• Bring a desire to learn, experiment, and keep current on new technology.
• Create any necessary application components, such as the user interface and data management systems.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Versatility and complementarity are crucial because our team supports numerous organizational departments. We must be experts in the following technologies as a team.

You must show that you have the coding skills necessary to transform business requirements into technical implementations and to collaborate with a group of business and technical specialists using any of the following:

• Tools: Github, Git, Jenkins
• Javascript, Java, Python

You are not expected to know each language and/or tool, but you must be able to rapidly learn and use the new languages and tools with guidance.

We are looking for the following business competencies:

• Prior experience in the capital markets is not necessary, but you must be intrigued by our business and be able to predict the demands of our users.
• Able to prioritize and escalate tasks according to their relative importance to get the results you want.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; a strong drive to learn and provide the team with solutions and suggestions.
• Self-directed and self-motivated, able to create and maintain enduring bonds with clients and coworkers.
• Ability to adjust communication to the audience and feel at ease speaking and writing in both English and French.
• As the person in this role will frequently collaborate with coworkers and partners in the United States, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English is a prerequisite.
