Job Description

Title - .NET Developer

Client – TOYOTA Motor Manufacturing Canada

Structure – 12 months, HIGHLY extendable

Location – 1 day remote, Cambridge (occasional travel to Woodstock plant)


DESCRIPTION

  • Additionally, you will be expected to participate in system engineering support for production during our fixed support rotations including some Windows server administration and troubleshooting tasks.
  • A successful applicant, you will be expected to visit the production floor as part of regular duties such as troubleshooting, deployments and training.
  • As a senior software engineer consultant, you will be supporting, updating, and developing on a variety of applications to support the shop floor.
  • Our client is looking for a self-driven senior software engineer to work on a variety of software systems supporting our production environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Application troubleshooting and updating
  • Application Programming
  • System support and maintenance
  • Systems analysis, design, and integration


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Factory Talk (Rockwell) experience
  • .Net experience
  • Relational Database in Oracle, Postgres and/or SQL Server
  • Kepware experience
  • Git or other related distributed version control software


MINIMUM 3 YEAR WORKING EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent organizational, communication, multi-tasking and teamwork skills
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Adaptable self-starter who works well independently and in a high-paced work environment
  • Software build, deployment, and maintenance using build tools, IIS, and Windows Servers
  • Developer Tools – Visual Studio, SQL Developer
  • General understanding and experience with networking and TCP/IP concepts
  • Test Driven Development


NICE TO HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Angular
  • Java
  • PLC or other embedded systems
  • Azure Devops


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Participate in virtual meetings, on MS Teams, WebEx, phone calls, etc.
  • Help create and adhere to project timelines
  • Ensure project adheres to set schedule and is meeting goals of the client
  • Write technical documentation
  • Participate in site visits to either or both our Cambridge and Woodstock plants.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Maintain positive vendor and client relationships


LOCATION

  • Depending on project tasks, WFH may not be possible for some weeks of the contract
  • Position will be primarily located in Cambridge. However there will be requirement to travel Woodstock for customer support. Expectation is the candidate will be onsite for work.
  • There is a pre-scheduled Work From Home capability up to a maximum of 1 day per week.
