Job Description
The Opportunity
The Motor Winder will work with a small and dedicated team of mechanical professionals. Wind, assemble and install various types of coils. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
The Role
  • Wind, assemble and install various types of coils
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
  • Assemble stators or armatures for heavy-duty electric motors
  • Read and interpret diagrams
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning
The Candidate
  • Knowledge: Weld or braze components; Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams; Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications; Instruct apprentices
  • Work Experience: 5+ years
  • Education: Trade certification, Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST) Trade Certification would be an asset.
