Position Overview
The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst is part of the Mergers and Acquisitions team at Calian and is responsible for understanding the business and growth strategies of each Business Unit, researching the market, and presenting findings and suggestions for merger and acquisition prospects to the executive team and business leaders.
Additionally, the M&A Analyst participates in various M&A activities including, due diligence, building financial models, preparing packages, execution of the transaction, and assisting with the development and implementation of integration plans to ensure long term success.
Responsibilities
  • Meets with the leadership team and advisors to determine business requirements and potential opportunities
  • Perform due diligence tasks across functional areas as needed
  • Conducts research and gathers qualifying information
  • Plays a strategic role to help position the business with potential targets
  • Assist the leadership team in preparing an offer, including offer documentation (i.e., IOI, LOI)
  • Provide support on integration activities as required
  • Identify the potential risks and impacts a deal may have on the organization with corresponding solutions
  • Formulate and analyze financial reports based on information obtained, and prepares various scenarios to help establish potential deals
  • Prepare customized presentations for business executive teams
  • Collaborates with senior management on all prospecting activities
Qualifications
  • Ability to think at both detail and summary levels
  • Experience participating in M&A
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing statistical, operational, and financial data
  • A clear sense of urgency to achieve results. A “can-do”, “let’s make it happen” attitude and a focus on a positive customer experience
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a financial or accounting role at the transactional level
  • Ability to think proactively, critically and independently to make good decisions
  • Keen sense of time management and flexibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • An eye for detail in drafting agreements and conducting due diligence
Additional Requirements
  • This position can be fully remote
  • You may be required to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
  • There will be some travel up to 20%
