Job Description
The Inuulitsivik Health Centre, with more than 900 employees, is part of the health and social services network in Quebec, Nunavik region. It provides the Hudson's Bay territory of approximately 7,000 people with front-line health and social services, including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and support services. In addition, he provides services related to the protection of young people and the management, for the Nunavik region, of Ullivik located in Dorval. The latter's mission is to welcome Inuit people who are to receive health services in participating Montreal hospitals. The Inuit population is distributed in seven communities on the Hudson Bay coast, from Kuujjuaraapik to Salluit.
Under the supervision of the manager of persons in loss of autonomy and mental health, the person takes responsibility for a range of recovery-oriented services for an adult clientele with serious mental disorders; plays a pivotal and advisory role with the various work teams in the North; works in collaboration with the community worker to offer services that respect the cultural diversity of the clientele; actively participates with work teams towards achieving excellence through commitment to continuous improvement of service quality and development support.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s degree which includes three (3) acceptable certificates, two (2) of which are recognized in nursing care. (Significant management experience may compensate for the lack of a Bachelor’s degree.)
Master's degree in nursing sciences (mental health and psychiatric care) considered an asset.
Experience Required
Minimum clinical experience of five (5) years in the mental health sector with a varied clientele (psychotic, personality disorder, child psychiatry, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, etc.)
Clinical experience in a mental health clinical nurse position for a minimum period of two (2) years. (in order to have someone who has done comprehensive initial mental health assessments, demonstrate more autonomy)
Work experience in a remote area considered an asset
Experience in transcultural health would be considered an asset
Essential Skills And Aptitudes
Member of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec.
Bilingualism essential (French and English) both orally and in writing. Inuktitut considered an asset.
Ability to communicate and work within a multicultural work team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Outlook.
Respect for cultural diversity
A valid driver's license is required.
Available to travel by plane to the various communities of Hudson's Bay when required.
Conditions And Benefits
Hourly rate according to the convention;
Day shift 37.5hres/week
Furnished accommodation provided;
4 annual outings;
Maximum 16 weeks off per year;
Premium cargo : $115.64/week;
Isolation premium: $203.66 /week;
Retention Premium: $287.47 / week
Moving costs incurred by the employer;
Storage costs if assumed by the employer.
