We are looking for mechanics and/or apprentice mechanics to join our team and become part of our Arrow family in Kamloops, BC! Ask about our apprentice support program.

As an Arrow mechanic, you will perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of tractors, trailers and mobile equipment. We have a very well maintained shop environment!


  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Apprentices are welcome to apply
  • Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Provide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and mobile equipment such as forklifts and loaders
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Perform incidental welding repairs on equipment.
  • At least two job references
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Ability to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times
  • Operate automotive servicing equipment, e.g. A/C recycler, etc.
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
  • Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair that is required.
  • A positive attitude
  • Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • CVI Inspector's License preferred
  • Clean driver’s abstract with no suspensions

The Transloader is responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of product into or out of truck or railcars by use of specialized transload equipment. This individual is also responsible for accurate and verified shipping and receiving paperwork.


As a Transloader, you will


  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.
  • Basic training may include, but is not limited to the following first aid, heat/cold stress prevention, fall protection, WHMIS, Rail Safe, PPE, Site Orientation
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift 50lbs
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate and maintain railcar/transloading equipment (e.g. hoses, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium sized equipment, etc.).
  • A strong safety mindset
  • Forklift and previous relevant experience is an asset
  • A positive team attitude
  • Training based on specific commodities may include, but is not limited to the following specific equipment competencies, H2S, SCBA, self-contained breathing apparatus, T.D.G (Canada), HazMat (USA), Emergency Response Plan, overflow protection systems
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Load railcars with liquid bulk with mobile loading racks by removing tank domes, securing the loading equipment and hoses and operating the control panel.
  • Assist haulers fixing their equipment to ours, checking for leaks and operating their pump as necessary.
  • A sound understanding or aptitude to learn the transloading of liquid commodities including hazardous materials 
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
  • Ability to complete the physical aspects of the job including opening and closing railcars dome lids, climb railcars (heights), crawl under railcars, walk long distances on uneven terrain, etc.
  • Understand how to properly sample and record the commodity for measurements and levels.
  • Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • A valid driver's license
  • Willing to work with liquid bulk materials 
  • Load/unload materials consisting of a variety of liquid bulk products (fuel).
  • Ability to be flexible in working day or night shift including some weekends
  • Experience working with computers an asset
