We are hiring a Mechanical Product Designer with a strong background in Consumer Product Design to join the Schneider Electric Prosumer NAM Hub Team in our Richmond, BC, Canada office.

What will you do?

• Estimate personal timelines to provide feedback for project scheduling
• Use engineering principles to analyze designs for structural integrity, thermal performance, material performance, manufacturability, and serviceability
• Within a collaborative design team, create and modify mechanical designs and drawings in PTC Creo Parametric/PDM
• Validate mechanical components, analyze data, and write test reports
• Proactively conceptualize product concepts based on market requirements
• Support design throughout the engineering process from initial concept to final production release

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Pragmatic detailed design sense in creation of CAD models and drawings of electrical enclosures and hardware design/placement
• Experience in BOM creation, ECO’s, DFMEA, FTA, and DVT processes preferred
• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in relevant industry in product design
• Sound engineering design methodologies: minimum constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T coupled with design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, reliability, quality, and cost mentalities
• Familiarity with design for regulatory compliance for electro-mechanical products (UL/IEC/NEC) as well as outdoor and ingress protection design implementations is preferred
• Mechanical design of sheet metal parts, busbars, injection molded parts, machined parts, and harnessing for prototype and high-volume production
