Who are we?

We’re Raise Recruiting, and we’ve partnered with our client, who is a leading manufacturer of large high temperature heat pumps for the commercial and industrial Canadian and US markets. Our client’s air source high temperature heat pumps are designed for the rapidly expanding electrification HVAC market.

In addition, they manufacture CO2 heat pumps for the domestic hot water market. Our client is investing heavily in its growth, expanding our production facilities, including climate chambers for development, and testing of new products.

Now, they are looking for an independent, communicative, and eager Mechanical Product Designerto join their team. Could this be you?


Mechanical Product Designer

As our new Mechanical Product Designer, you’ll work closely with the Electrical Designer to design and customize a variety of mechanical drawings for a variety of clients. Using your knowledge of relevant software, you’ll draft, adjust, and submit drawings for manufacturing.

The best designers and engineers understand the business. They build relationships with other departments like production, purchasing, marketing and sales. They are attentive listeners – who understand and act on peer and customer input.

Practically speaking you will:

  • Prepare procedures, perform and evaluate tests of components and final assemblies
  • Work with operations personnel to gain feedback for product development and refinement
  • Work with sub-vendors to finalize components
  • Analyze for compliance with applicable standards
  • Evaluate the design in the final product format and functionality
  • Prepare technical documents
  • Develop new product designs based on in-house testing
  • Setting up various scenarios and layouts by creating machine models and components
  • Generate applicable calculations, drawings and bills of materials for equipment
  • Sourcing, reviewing and purchasing components for applicable assemblies
  • Support production and sales
  • Prepare test reports and recommendations

The Details

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Barrie, ON. You’ll earn a competitive base salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and voluntary RESP/RPP with 5% match after 1 year employment.


Qualifications

  • Experience with testing and field troubleshooting
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
  • Previous work on Solidworks 3D software and AutoCAD
  • 5+ years experience with mechanical product design and development
  • Experience with any HVAC equipment (asset)
