Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Material Handler with SDCB forklift certification to join Canada's leading distributor of pipe, valves & fittings, waterworks & fire protection products!! This is a great opportunity for someone looking for stable, permanent, and unionized work!
You would make the ideal candidate if you like keeping busy and being hands-on through completing daily duties like picking/packing, loading/unloading, general labour, and operating a SDCB forklift.
What You Need To Know
Shift Available 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Delta, BC
Payrate: $20.81 to start with scheduled raise increases
Permanent position
Must be legally permitted to work in Canada and reside in BC
Must have at least 2 years of warehousing and forklift experience

Responsibilities
  • Locate and pick product and materials as per customer order requirements, use computer information or paper documentation to build order to completion, tag/label and prepare order for shipment, ensure all documentation relating to customer order is complete and filed
  • To perform shipper & receiver functions as required/requested
  • To participate in warehouse physical inventory as required/requested
  • To assist customers at warehouse sales counters as required/requested
  • Load trucks, load in proper sequence for efficient delivery, ensure all product/material loaded is secure and safe prior to vehicle movement
  • Unload trucks, ensure correct documentation is received and completed, receive and re-stock inventory, verifies accuracy of product/material match with labels, bins/shelving/storage locations, places inventory in correct location, advises of any errors or discrepancies
  • Follow daily delivery schedule to ensure orders are picked and completed on time and in proper sequencing for efficient loading
Qualifications
  • Well organized with the ability to multi-task and work to shift priorities
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a warehouse environment
  • Forklift certification is mandatory (about 10% of the day will be using the forklift for assisting with unloading/loading)
  • Can clear a criminal record check
  • Can provide valid employment references
