Job Description
CALLING ALL SCARBOROUGH AREA FORKLIFT OPERATORS WITH SHIPPING AND RECEIVING EXPERIENCE!!!
Are you on the hunt for a position that will cut down your commute and allow you to work close to home in Scarborough (within 5 minutes from the Kennedy exit of the 401)??
Are you tired of working contract positions that never result in a permanent hire?
Do you currently hold a valid forklift license and have experience operating REACH forklifts (COUNTERBALANCE experience is a big asset)??
Have you previously worked in a SHIPPING/RECEIVING role where you gained some experience using inventory software, Microsoft Office applications, and RF Scanners?
Would you love the opportunity to secure a position with an extremely stable, GLOBAL INDUSTRY LEADER, who has over 300 locations world-wide?
Are you able to work a straight AFTERNOON SHIFT, and do you have some flexibility in your schedule that will allow you to work overtime once and a while, and cover other shifts for vacations/absences occasionally?

Responsibilities
  • UNLOAD INCOMING RAW MATERIALS FROM TRUCKS - Using material handling equipment
  • OPERATE MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT - Raymond Reach most regularly, but also Counterbalance forklift, hand trucks, and pallet lifters
  • PACK GOODS TO BE SHIPPED OUT - Using care to ensure product quality remains high and paying close attention to details to ensure all shipments are packed correctly
  • ROUTE GOODS TO APPROPRIATE STORAGE AREAS - Dependent on department and type of material
  • WORKING WITH URGENCY WHEN UNDER TIGHT DEADLINES - Client is quota and deadline based, so successful candidate must be able to work effectively in this type of environment
  • PERFORM REGULAR SHIPPING TASKS - Affixing identifying information and shipping instructions on all shipments and scanning all materials
  • PERFORM REGULAR RECEIVING DUTIES - Use scanner to track all incoming materials and verify information is captured in inventory system
  • OTHER RELATED TASKS AS REQUIRED - Supervisors may occasionally request that tasks relating to material handling/shipping and receiving be completed that are not listed here
Qualifications
  • MUST BE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO WORK IN CANADA - This includes NOT having restrictions surrounding number of hours that can be worked per week
  • MUST HAVE VALID FORKLIFT LICENSE - Reach truck is a MUST (Counterbalance as well is a big asset)
  • SHOULD BE ABLE TO PASS A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK - Criminal background check MAY be required
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EFFECTIVELY UNDER TIGHT DEADLINES - Able to regulate stress and external pressure, as environment is heavily deadline-based
  • MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE - Operation of Reach Truck (6mos + Counterbalance operation is an asset)
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A STRAIGHT AFTERNOON SHIFT - With additional flexibility in schedule for occasional overtime and coverage of other employees for vacations, etc
  • MUST HAVE BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS - Role requires use of in-house inventory software, Microsoft Office Suite, and RF Scanner use
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDANTLY WITH MINIMAL DIRECTION - Candidates should be able to recognize tasks that need to be completed without having to be directed to do so
  • MUST HAVE 1+ YEARS EXPERIENCE - Working in a shipping/receiving role in an industrial setting
