About the opportunity:
Manager, FP&A will be a key financial partner to the VP, Corporate Planning & Analysis. Manager will also play an important role supporting the commercial leadership team on financial planning, performance management and decision support.
This role requires a natural curiosity and desire to learn complemented by a deep understanding of the numbers and an ability to communicate clearly. The successful candidate will be versatile, highly motivated, with a positive attitude and a strong desire to contribute to the success of the team and the overall business.
Areas of key responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Decision Support:
- Prepare commercial models and undertake cost-benefit analysis for new business opportunities.
- Partner with commercial leaders to analyze financial and operational performance.
- Establish and maintain close partnerships and collaborative relationships with finance and operations.
Management Reporting & Analysis:
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to enhance understanding of product and customer profitability.
- Support the preparation of the company’s monthly Management Report including variance analysis.
- Assist with preparation of presentation materials for the Executive team, Board and other key stakeholders.
Financial Planning:
- Prepare commercial models and undertake cost-benefit analysis for new business opportunities.
- Partner with commercial leaders to analyze financial and operational performance.
- Establish and maintain close partnerships and collaborative relationships with finance and operations.
- Support long-range strategic planning including the development and maintenance of financial models.
- Manage the budget and forecast calendar, coordinating the schedule with key stakeholders, including various business functional leads.
- Play leadership role on the budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the commercial leadership team.
Background and Experience:
- Previous SaaS experience an asset.
- Minimum 6 years experience in FP&A or other relevant commercial finance roles.
- Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA or CMA required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to translate complex data to simple insights.
- Strategic thinker and decision maker.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage through change.
