Overview
- Ensure that WorkSafeBC and Divisional policies, procedures and standards are appropriately implemented within assigned area including providing advice, guidance, and direction to assigned staff and others on policies, business plans and operational matters relating to prevention services strategic project support.
- Manage the financial resources within the allocated budget including planning, developing and administration of the annual operating budget for the assigned area.
- Respond to external requests (e.g., Ministry) that may have significant impact on their operations and initiatives.
- Participate as a member of the management team of the Division in business planning activities and provides input into planning and implementing changes and initiatives as required.
- Manage and direct assigned staff in maintaining high levels of service and in achieving divisional priorities and objectives including hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination of staff, as required.
- Ensure the effective delivery of strategic project coordination services by developing and implementing team business plans to support and achieve the Division's strategic objectives.
- Manage ongoing projects, reports, and initiatives critical to the department and Prevention Services Division.
- Manage the divisional operations team to ensure effective delivery of services to the Prevention Services Division.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Cultivate excellent working relationships in liaising with WorkSafeBC management and staff as well as external stakeholders
- Enjoy working independently plus a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Thrive in a challenging and dynamic environment while maximizing your ability to develop and implement business plans
- Exhibit tact and considerable judgement when responding to internal and external inquiries
- A university degree in a related discipline (business administration, strategic leadership, finance, etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with broad knowledge of occupational health and safety management and/or project management expertise
