Job Description
Our Cariboo Pulp Division, a West Fraser And Mercer International Joint Venture Located In Quesnel, BC Has An Opportunity For a


West Fraser is a leading diversified North American forest products company.


Divisional Controller


As the senior financial resource on site, you will work with management team group to operate and grow our successful operations and report to the General Manager.


Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For


  • Ensuring the timely completion of financial reports and maintaining the integrity of internal controls (SOX)
  • Assume secretarial responsibilities for quarterly and annual joint venture meetings.
  • Overseeing all financial activities of the mill
  • Providing operational and financial support for the division’s management team and the corporate head office
  • Supervising the administrative office staff and coaching of operational personnel on financial matters relating to their area of responsibility
  • Participating in the management team and providing value-added decision support
  • The preparation of timely and accurate full-cycle accounting for the division, including monthly journal entries, financial statement package, reconciliations and required reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of the annual business plan


The Ideal Candidate Will Possess


  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detailed and proactive approach to work
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Well established organizational & leadership skills
  • Power BI experience is an asset.
  • Forestry industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Oracle and/ or JD Edwards accounting software, considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication skills
