Maintenance/Millwright Apprentice - Plc

Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Maintenance / Millwright Apprentice, to work at a well-established packaging company in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will be often involved in comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects including some electrical work. If you know how to install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment, using specialized tools, such as welders and basic milling equipment, then this job is yours!Pay Rate: $35-$38 / hour Location: Surrey, BC Shifts: 7 AM - 3:30 PM | Monday to Friday during the off-season and Tuesday to Saturday during the busier weeks/months Job type: Full-time |Permanent Duties and Responsibilities: Follow Company safety rules including wearing proper safety equipment, as instructed, at all times Responsible for troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over Minimize the downtime of production machinery and equipment due to mechanical and/or structural failure through rapid response and diagnosis Proactively inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect any irregularities and malfunctions. Support new machine builds, installations and modifications using appropriate tools and procedures Review and follow technical and machinery manuals Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them and reassemble the parts Install, align, take apart and move stationary machineries and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools Collect and store distinct machinery parts Collaborate with Managers and Technicians when using the machines Follow ISO procedures and maintain regular documentation on equipment, maintenance and repair costs Report to the Manager immediately any unsafe acts or workplace conditions Ensure correction of hazardous conditions on a priority basis over other tasks Ensure that all required machine guards are in place and functional and that faulty machinery is "locked out" in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act to prevent workplace injuries Support health and safety and procedures and practices throughout the facility by ensuring that housekeeping and safe work practices are maintained throughout Requirements and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is needed A minimum of 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred Millwright Certificate is preferred or equivalent experience Electrical experience is appreciated Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience are preferred. Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required Must have a demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude Physical strength and stamina are crucial for success Should have outstanding problem-solving skills in production as well as continuous improvement aptitude Must have a firm grasp of health and safety codes Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written are needed Able to work in a team, as well as autonomously, as required Must be coachable, professional, approachable, self-motivated and a quick learner Demonstrates good and safe work habits and maintains a clean working environment Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada Don't miss out on this Maintenance/Millwright Apprentice job opportunity in Surrey, BC.
