Position: Maintenance Supervisor


Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 2:30 – 10:30 pm


We are seeking a knowledgeable Maintenance Supervisor to provide direction and leadership to our maintenance department of licensed mechanics and set-up technicians.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Effectively manage and mentor the maintenance and set-up departments while meeting personal and plant measurable
  • Order and maintain stock levels for tooling spares system
  • Champion and lead maintenance efforts in continuous improvement activities, specifically focusing on throughput & capacity improvements, uptime and machine reliability
  • Administration of hours for payroll and attendance purposes
  • Address internal and external quality and production concerns and effectively determine root cause analysis for long term prevention
  • Lead maintenance efforts during new program launches; incorporate knowledge of existing maintenance systems and manufacturing technology to assist with the design and build of new equipment and processes, and the development of internal standards
  • Review machine components for opportunities to standardize
  • Oversee training of new employees and ongoing development of the maintenance department
  • Scheduling of overtime to meet productions needs
  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve an effective predictive and preventative maintenance program
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed and participate in APQP as required
  • Supervision of the day-to-day needs of the maintenance department as required


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of five (5) years’ maintenance licensed experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Practical knowledge of cold forming and bending of various metals (steel, aluminum, stainless) with small diameters
  • Practical knowledge of welding (MIG, TIG, Arc)
  • Familiar with the principles of maintenance systems (work order, preventative maintenance)
  • Ability to work outside of standard business hours as required to support all three (3) shifts
  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED
  • Theoretical knowledge of robotics/automation
  • Licensed Trade (Millwright, MTBI, Tool & Die)
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory/leadership experience preferably in a maintenance manufacturing setting
  • Conceptual knowledge of electrical and programming principles for machine diagnosis (servo drives)
