Covia is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Supervisor who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Blue Mountain location. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will supervise, schedule and direct maintenance personnel, coordinating with other supervisors to accomplish daily maintenance requirements for mobile equipment, stationary equipment, plant buildings and other facilities.

The Successful Incumbent Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities
- Provide relief coverage for various maintenance functions including, Planner and Mobile Equipment Supervisor
- Help with efforts to kit parts
- Set high standards for workplace safety.
- Hands on supervision and scheduling of maintenance employees to meet the demands of the plant.
- Lead efforts to increase maintenance productivity
- Assist others in leading and delivering continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all parts are consumed against work orders using the CMMS system (IFS)
- Ensure lubrication processes are working effectively
- Requisition parts and supplies as necessary, working with purchasing to ensure that critical spares are on hand and maintenance tasks are performed with minimal interruptions.
- Distribute scheduled work orders to maintenance employees with oversight of maintenance jobs from start to finish assuring quality and timely repairs are made.
- Understand and enforce Covia’s Corporate Safety & Health policies and procedures ensuring employees are properly trained and equipped to perform jobs in the safest manger.
- Validate maintenance related activities are being documented in the CMMS (IFS) and if not, input where required work order and part consumption.
- Initiate programs to improve quality, eliminate waste, decrease costs and improve productivity and efficiency using continuous improvement philosophy and techniques.
- Direct responsibility for managing the plant maintenance function.
- Responsible for timely completion of maintenance reporting requirements and equipment/maintenance records.
- Enforce high standards for plant housekeeping.
- Participate in and take on responsibility for initiatives developed from weekly improvement meetings
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SharePoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 3-5 years of related maintenance experience required.
