Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Highbury Canco team as a Maintenance Supervisor.


As a Maintenance Supervisor you will assume full responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and controlling of labour, safety, quality, and cost of the Maintenance department. Comparing results against schedule and goals to proactively maintain equipment to contribute to continual improvement throughout the organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


o Lead, direct, and supervise daily multi skilled forces – (electricians, millwrights, apprentices, and production maintenance)


o Daily analysis of production schedule, labour costs, productivity, equipment status (PM’s) and capital spend for the department; recommend, and implement plans for variance to budget.


o Ensure employees complete work activities safely and without jeopardizing product quality as well as meet HCC Maintenance standards.


o Develop department personnel skills and abilities, completion of HCC Maintenance Standards and supervise implementation.


o Organize and assign work activities by type and class, ensuring employee comprehension as well as daily productivity against standards.


o Maintain Maintenance Performance Scorecard.


o Monitor and evaluate employee performance through periodic inspections of employee’s work progress and work performance, tracking actual vs. estimated spend ratios.


o Maintain and enforce Company policies and procedures, measuring through Employee Absenteeism levels and observations.


o Active participation on various taskforce teams and committees, developing policies and procedures and programs to enhance safety, quality, productivity to attain goals.


REQUIREMENTS:


o Minimum five years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.


o Good understanding of can seaming principles.


o Electrical or Millwright ticket required.


o Knowledge of Pressure Vessels Act and Electrical Code.


o Ability to adapt quickly.


o Communicate clearly and effectively to subordinates.


o Meet deadlines.


o Ability to motivate, encourage, and coach employees to meet our quality and productivity objectives.
