THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Logistics and Distribution Manager who will be responsible for the overall inbound and outbound operations, including traffic, logistics and warehousing. The incumbent responsibilities also include optimizing and monitoring the storage and distribution of goods.
Role & Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, and control all logistics activities, including but not limited to transportation, customs, shipping, receiving, inventory, warehousing, and material flow;
- Plan, develop, organize, manage, and evaluate the operations and budget related to transportation and distribution;
- Negotiate with carriers, transport companies, and warehousing vendors for services and preferential rates;
- Implement WMS system to increase inventory accuracy, and optimize operational fulfillment;
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement process improvements;
- Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transportation & distribution personnel and operations;
- Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth;
- Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements;
- Supervise, evaluate, coach warehousing and traffic department;
- Oversee inventory levels and accuracy;
Requirements
- Minimum of 5-10 years experience in logistics management or warehousing operations;
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, administration, industrial engineering, or logistics;
- Experience in apparel wholesale;
- Experience overseeing cross-border and international logistics & operations;
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and evaluate staff cross functional teams;
- Proficient in standard logistics software and WMS Systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects;
- Bilingual in both English and French;
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus;
- Ecommerce and B2B fulfilment experience a plus;
- Knowledge of NetSuite (an asset)
