Job Description

Description

LEAP leads the world in the development and sale of cloud based legal practice management software for small law firms on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. We employ more than 600 people, have offices in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK with more than 12,000 law firms using our software worldwide. LEAP will provide you with the best training, equipment, mentoring and support in order for you to be successful.

We are seeking a Legal Research Specialist in Alberta to join our highly motivated, high velocity and growing team. The Legal Research Specialist will be working remotely with our Toronto office. At LEAP, Legal Research Specialists investigate how to tailor our world-class software to meet the needs of users in different jurisdictions. This position shapes the success of our business and sets us apart from our competitors.

In this role, you will be researching different areas of law in a variety of different provinces, before reporting back on what our software must include to support our clientele of practicing lawyers. You will consult with users to bolster your research, and work closely with our developers to bring your recommendations to reality.

The Legal Research Specialist will also oversee our growing library of automated forms. You will be responsible for advising how complex legal forms should populate with information that pulls automatically from client files, allowing users to produce legal documentation efficiently and accurately.

The Legal Content team also undertakes a lot of project work on new legal content initiatives. You will be responsible for legal research regarding new projects and will be a key player in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects to our clients. This is the perfect position for someone who wants to use their legal background but is not looking for a traditional legal career, or for someone who would like a career change from a traditional legal career. We are looking for candidates who not only have legal knowledge and experience, but who are also able to adapt to working in a software company environment and are comfortable using technology. We are looking for people who are driven by finding better ways of doing things.
