About The Position

The Centre for Technology, Environment and Design is seeking applicants for a Lab Technician III . Reporting to the science lab coordinator, the lab technician is involved with office work, laboratory work, directly responsible for chemistry labs and chemical ordering, and storage and disposal.

Position Details

Primary Focus

The lab technician will function as support for chemistry faculty and chemistry lab experimentation. Working collaboratively with the senior lab technician, chemistry faculty and college researchers to ensure timely and effective delivery of chemistry labs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry/Bio chemistry or related discipline and prior post-secondary experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with preparation of standard chemical solutions and chemical safety. Additional knowledge in maintenance and service of UV/Vis and atomic absorption spectroscopy units and general lab equipment and glassware. Time management and organization of multiple tasks are essential.

Salary AUPE Class Level 8 Step 1 $46,059.35 per annum
