Jr. Accounting Clerk

Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, this position will play a crucial role in assisting the finance department with various accounting functions, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The Jr .Accounting Clerk will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.

Scope of Responsibilities:

·Create invoices for all BOL’s received

·Manage SPS Commerce EDI Invoices

·Credit notes for price discrepancies

·Update new Sales Prices in ERP

·Apply customer payments promptly and accurately

·Prepare month-end journal entries and assist the Director of Finance as needed

·Actively contribute to achieving departmental goals

·Reconcile customer accounts and provide customers with accurate information by email and phone

·Perform collection calls on overdue accounts

·Maintain organized files/records

·Send out invoices/statements to customers

·Collaborate with team members to resolve issues in a timely manner

·Backup for the AP function – posting AP invoices, processing payments, and filing payment support

·Support Finance with Month End and Year End processing

·Assists in the preparation of the consolidated forecasts and budgets and analyzes trends in revenue, expense, capital expenditures and other related areas

·Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Education and Professional Qualifications:

·Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

·Strong knowledge of ERP logic, including chart of accounts and financial business structure

·Experience with BI tools and Excel-based reporting add-ins

·Advanced to expert level Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, nested if-statements, sumifs, etc)

·Minimum of 1 year AR experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment

·Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial statements.

·Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.

·Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
