Desjardins’ Investment Banking division is looking to recruit successful applicants as full-time analyst for its Montréal office.
Desjardins Capital Markets (“DCM”) combines the focus of a boutique investment bank with the capabilities of a large, integrated financial institution. DCM’s integrated capital markets team operates out of Toronto, Montréal, Calgary and Vancouver and delivers tailored financial solutions to corporations, institutions and government agencies across Canada. Requirements
Desjardins’ Investment Banking division is looking for highly dynamic and engaged individuals with the energy, enthusiasm and capacity to work in a fast-paced and stimulating environment. Successful candidates are selected based on their academic excellence, relevant work experience, market knowledge and communication skills. The role of an investment banking intern requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic.
A proven academic track record with background in finance, accounting, engineering, or other relevant fields with outstanding track record is required.
Responsibilities
- Financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of valuation models, pro forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc.
- Assistance in the preparation of presentation materials for use in client meetings
- Support in the execution of all facets of a mandate
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or other relevant fields
- 0-2 years of experience in a M&A related role
- Demonstrated knowledge and strong interest in finance and capital markets
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French
- High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills (i.e. financial and data analysis)
- The ability to work within a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic team environment
- Strong technical/computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg)
- A proven academic track record with background in finance, accounting, engineering, or other relevant fields
