Job Description
Term of App't: Regular, Part time (17.5 hours per week)


Start date: Immediately


Reporting to: Director of International Education


Salary


Under Review: Classification 12, $23,238.02 - $23,956.72 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Annual vacation (59.50 hours) is pro-rated, and front loaded. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits (staff are eligible after the completion of 910 employment hours). Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 - Jan 1st) of each year is paid time off.


Description


The International Education Department is seeking to hire a regular part-time clerk that will be responsible for supporting programs and services for international students and will perform logistical and administrative support functions and duties.


Duties may include maintaining financial and attendance reports; organizing information sessions; responding to inquiries from various stakeholders; managing applications data into the student information systems and tracking tuition payments; and facilitating community integration programs.


If you have exceptional customer service skills and enjoy working in a team environment, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. You should have a keen interest in working with a diverse customer base that includes faculty, students, staff, and the public.


Qualifications


Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' related experience and 1 year of post-secondary education with a certificate in office administration, or an equivalent combination of experience may be accepted. Experience and proficiency with the current version of MS Office is required. Excellent organizational and both written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be able to contribute to a team environment, multi-task, and work independently. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions. A valid BC Driver's License is required.


The selection process will include completion of a comprehensive clerical test.
