Housekeeping - Room Attendant

The Room Attendant's primary responsibility is to maintain and clean guest rooms. The Room Attendant shall provide attentive and courteous service to guests, assist guests with inquiries, and ensure their stay is memorable and uncomplicated.
The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities

• Must be in good physical condition, frequent pushing/pulling/reaching/stooping/handling and gripping is required
• Previous experience within a Hotel Housekeeping department is preferred but not required
• Must be able to work shifts - days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Providing excellent customer service as per the standards of the Hotel
• Perform any other duties and tasks as required by the manager/supervisor
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Performing very physical labour
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs / 9 kg
• Must possess good organizational /time management skills
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential
• Must be a self motivator - work with little supervision
• Additional languages spoken would be an asset
• Answering guest requests
• Lifting above the shoulder is also required
• Cleaning of the guest rooms to standard as assigned
• Must be neat, professional and well groomed

Room Attendant Physical Requirements

• Constant unilateral and bilateral handling and gripping of various cleaning products
• Will carry various items with range of weight up to 10lbs
• Pulling/lifting up of mattress when tucking in sheets
• Frequent waist to shoulder movement when cleaning between waist and shoulder height, pushing/pulling vacuum
• Occasional reaching above shoulder when cleaning high areas
• Ability to lift above shoulder when removing/replacing linens
• Frequent standing and walking between various areas in guest room
• Ability to regularly push/pull vacuum and pushing/pulling of cart between rooms
• Able to squat/crouch while reaching to access and clean low levels to floor and stoop frequently
• Frequent waist to shoulder and floor to waist lifting of cleaning tools
• Occasionally uses finger manipulation when cleaning into corners, detailing, folding, etc.
