Job Description
Description
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for assisting all employees with all IT related technical support issues. The IT Support Specialist will interact with our staff to determine and resolve issues as they arise as well as maintain and monitor the network infrastructure. The IT Support Specialist reports to the Estimating & IT Manager and comminutes with our MSP when required. This position will also be required to install new software applications and train employees on proper application use.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
The IT Support Specialist’s duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and evaluate the system for planning and maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Working closely with various vendors to maintain our current infrastructure and all integrated applications.
  • Diagnosing software, networking, or hardware issues.
  • Installing and configuring computer systems and mobile devices.
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and data recovery.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration and test new technology.
  • Managing Enterprise MDM, and cloud-based applications
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Creating and maintaining Group Policies and access controls.
  • Supporting other types of applications as required, especially with Microsoft developed products.
  • Working closely with The Estimating & IT Manager to grow and maintain our technical systems.
  • Creating new user accounts in Active Directory, MS365, Apple, Firewall, and Autodesk
  • Upgrading, installing, and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives
  • Providing technical support in the office and remotely to workers on site or office staff working from home.

Requirements
Active Directory, MS Office 365, Apple iPhone, Firewall, Autodesk, Backup administration, VMware, SharePoint, Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining software and applications, In-depth knowledge of business software such as Microsoft 365 applications and server virtualization software such as VMware, Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Systems (Servers, Applications, SharePoint etc.), Post-secondary degree/diploma in an IT related field, Previous experience troubleshooting end-user IT issues in a fast-paced environment, 3-5 years of experience in a Helpdesk or IT Support role
