Description
The Machine Operator – Grinder reports directly to the Fabrication Supervisor.

The Grinder is required to ensure the safe, efficient operation, for their tools. Tasks performed will include grinding weld spots on aluminum railings. The Grinder will be responsible for efficient operation according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.
Responsibilities

• Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances, and regulations.
• Produce product with an emphasis on quality.
• Proper and safe handling of parts.
• Proper and safe operation of manufacturing machinery to meet production needs
• Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain high production numbers for daily goals.
• Complete all assigned Quality checks.
• Follow instructions.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

• Forklift experience, an asset but not required.
• Highschool diploma, GED, or 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace.
• Ability to physically lift up to 50lbs.
• Positive attendance is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong work ethic.
• Experience with routine maintenance operations.
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
• Ability to use and read a tape measure.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with hand tools, specifically hand held grinder.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work as a functioning member of a team.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
