Hiring Range: $56,000 – 62,000

POSITION PROFILE

The Graphic Design Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and provides creative visual and graphic design support for print and digital assets, including print collateral, web, video production and social media for St. Jerome's University. This position will coordinate the planning, design and production of high-quality, cutting-edge marketing and communication materials that support the institution's integrated communications and strategic priorities. This role will act as a brand ambassador for the department and will collaborate and design the marketing/communication materials for both print and digital applications to support St. Jerome's reputation and stakeholder engagement and to ensure adherence to our visual identity.

How will you contribute as a Graphic Design Marketing Coordinator?

Graphic Design

·Develops visual and graphical content for print, web, social and video that support the plans and priorities of St. Jerome's University. 

·Coordinates a photography plan (once per term) to ensure high-quality images are used in campaigns and adhere to SJU’s brand standards. 

·Coordinates the workflow and production process of all print and digital materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines, cost-effectiveness, and project deadlines. 

·Remains current with design and digital technologies to ensure St. Jerome's is equipped to capitalize on the latest trends and tools 

·As the department's brand ambassador, this role will update and maintain the brand standards, guidelines, and templates with direction from the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Social Media and Communications

·Supports the maintenance of a cohesive institutional content and events calendar for email, social and content marketing

·Evaluates and reports on social media and email campaigns using best-practice metrics and industry-standard KPIs

·Assists and reports on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives using tools such as evaluation forms, questionnaires, surveys, focus groups and dashboard reports

·Uses judgment in responding to direct messages and comments on social media posts and escalate when required

·Ensures content is timely, informative, appealing and engaging

Web Content and Administration


·Coordinates all content updates of web pages including the creation, and implementation of content design and navigation prioritizing SJU’s brand guidelines.

·Performs routine website using stakeholder input.

·Analyzes the effectiveness and engagement of web pages, communications and strategies 

·Remains up-to-date on web technologies and software

·Works with internal departments and vendors to support institutional events as needed

·In coordination with University Archives, ensures the University's written and visual communications are centrally stored.

As a successful Graphic Design Marketing Coordinator you possess:

·A Graphic Design (or related) degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience

·2+ years of practicalexperience in producing high quality designs for print, digital and social media

·Advanced Adobe Creative Suite experience

·Web content management skills

·Video creation and editing skills

·Photography experience would be considered an asset

·Google Analytics and SEO experience would be considered an asset

·Knowledge in the use of CSS, HTML, HTML5, and Java Script to develop digital ads

·Experience and knowledge of producing accessible web content and accessibility web requirements (AODA)

·Strong attention to detail, time management and coordination skills

·Experience in leveraging and creating visual and graphical content for different social media platforms

·Ability to work independently and as a team member with diverse individuals

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·Demonstrates initiative and sound judgement in all situations.
