About The Role


We're looking for graduates from a range of degrees for different areas across our business. This requisition is for a role of Graduate Chemical / Process / Metallurgical Engineer based at Rio Tinto Kitimat, BC.


As the successful candidate, your role will include


To develop skills around asset management, risk management, work management, and reliability to enable you to excel in your career. Be responsible for analysing change requests from different areas of the plant, designing innovative solutions, developing various alternatives, testing the chosen solution and commissioning while providing technical assistance when required.

What You’ll Bring


To be eligible for the Graduate program, you must have completed your studies within the last two years (2022, 2023) or working towards graduation in 2024.


  • Interest in working in a large complex industrial environment
  • Right to work in Canada
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or other related field
  • Flexibility and autonomy
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Enthusiasm to collaborate with different teams in unique environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Less than two years of relevant work experience (local and international)
  • Safety mindset
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenges ahead.
