Global Mobility Specialist
Job location: This is a remote/hybrid position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada. If you are located in Ottawa, you will be expected to work in a hybrid model with a minimum of working in the office 3 days a week.
About The Team
Our Global HR Services team acts as the central point of contact for all employee life cycle operations, maintaining our HR global policies and processes, overseeing our regional HR support, and providing exceptional HR transactional guidance and employee experience to a global employee base. The Global Mobility Specialist is responsible for contributing to the design, build, and implementation of a global mobility program, including the creation and continued enhancement of policies and processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Services, and partnering with stakeholders across HR and the business, the Global Mobility Specialist will be comfortable in both a strategic and hands on role, with a passion for innovative solutions and engaging and retaining strong talent.
What you will do
  • Ensure that all global mobility initiatives and cases meet regional compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for Employees, Managers, HR, Legal, Finance, and Payroll for Global Mobility issues; coordinating and escalating when required.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, including process and policy enhancements, metrics, and communication and training initiatives, involving relevant stakeholders as needed and ensuring alignment across Finance, Tax, HR, and the business.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to others on first level decision and direction on global mobility.
  • Utilize a strong working knowledge of global mobility policies and procedures to recommend the appropriate actions to stakeholders.
  • Actively monitor complex cases, to ensure timelines, milestones, and schedules are being met, proactively anticipating challenges and delays and adapting accordingly.
  • Monitor legislative changes and update policies and processes accordingly
  • Providing timely updates on priority cases to key stakeholders, including employees, managers, leaders, HR Business Partners and candidates
  • Support and lead global mobility related projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee all global mobility workstreams, including work authorization requirements and expirations, immigration and expat requests, and relocations.
  • Lead the build and execution of Kinaxis Global Mobility Framework, partnering with internal stakeholders within HR and across the business, and managing vendor and third-party service provider relationships.
What we are looking for
  • Experience developing and presenting reports and analytics to all levels of the business.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in progressive roles within Global Mobility with a focus on HR
  • Demonstrated HR project management experience, with an attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to use sound judgment to drive complex issues to resolution and influence to achieve result.
  • CERC designation would be an asset
  • Embodies a “company first” mentality, and acts as an ambassador to Kinaxis culture and values.
  • Possesses a business partner attitude and influencing skills, coupled with a solid ability to work with various levels of stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • An understanding of cross border immigration and taxation matters is preferred.
  • Experience managing global assignment projects (STA, LTA, localizations etc.)
  • Ability to work in an agile, dynamic, rapid-changing environment by prioritizing situations which require sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively (internally and externally)
  • Ability to make decisions on day-to-day activities and escalate timely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, or related field, or combination of relevant work experience and education preferred.
