Full-Stack Software Developer (Finance/Trading) (Remote)


About Tartigrade

Tartigrade is a Private Equity Fund that is using advanced mathematical models and various hardware & software technologies (C#, VBA, Python, SQL, PowerBI, Excel, GitHub) to identify arbitrage, volatility as an asset class and convex return opportunities in organized financial markets. We are building series of investment products to assist and advise investors or corporations to hedge against systemic market risks or add convexity to their existing portfolio of assets.

About the role

Tartigrade is seeking a versatile Financial Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This role offers the unique opportunity to:

•Collaborate closely with market analysts on application development

•Automate and streamline business processes using Advanced Excel

•Provide essential support to the front and middle office, handling daily data queries

•Oversee the maintenance and management of SQL databases

•Prepare, test, and implement change requests when needed

•Tackle complex issues, developing solutions swiftly and efficiently

•Transition existing VBA code into C#

Reporting directly to the Fund's Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the successful candidate will have the chance to gain practical insights into trading, shaping the future of our market strategies.

Qualifications

•Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada

•Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred

•Proficiency in Excel, VBA, C#, SQL, Python, and GitHub

•Strong knowledge of PowerBI, Visual Studio, Excel.DNA, and experience building custom Excel Add-ins (XLL, XLAM)

•Proven ability to write and debug multithreaded C# applications

•Familiarity with Interactive Brokers API is a plus

•Prior experience in the finance industry, particularly in derivative trading

•Eagerness to learn about system automation and market securities, with a special interest in options trading

•Ability to conduct daily online meetings with a performant home computer equipped with a webcam

•Attention to detail and flexibility around work shifts

•Understanding of computer hardware and optimization of a workstation is beneficial

• Residing in Calgary or Alberta is a plus
