About The Role
Your Job:
As a Forensic Accountant (Loss Quantification), your work will play an important role in the investigation of business interruption and loss of income claims. You will support Claims Adjusters in the adjudication of claims by reviewing financial information and extracting key points that drive recommendations.
You Will
As one of Intact’s Accountants, you will be joining a dynamic team in Claims tasked with analyzing and calculating the loss incurred by the claimant following an incident, by analyzing the accounting records provided. Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyze Claims And Provide Recommendations
  • Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders as required (including other departments and leaders)
  • Verify the validity and calculate the business interruption loss or income replacement benefit
  • Anticipate the needs of the claimant and offer appropriate solutions
  • Offer technical accounting support to Claims Adjusters and team leaders
Communicate And Validate Claims With The Claimant
  • Communicate the results in a clear, precise, and authentic manner to the Claims Adjuster and/or the claimant, adapting the communication style as required
  • Communicate with the claimant, legal representative, and their accountant when required, in collaboration with the Claims Adjuster
  • Provide a fair and equitable result in a timely manner that will consider the policy, standards, and applicable laws
The Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Audit or Accounting, with a CPA in good standing
  • Willingness to learn and grow skillset
  • Experience in the insurance industry would be considered an asset
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, providing input to arrive at the best solutions for the team
  • Ability to negotiate and make quality decisions at the appropriate time
  • Proficiency in French would be considered an asset
  • Excellent time management skills, and experience with managing competing priorities
  • Forensic Accounting experience would be considered an asset
